Crazyphone is Crazytel's official softphone application. This guide covers setting up and signing into the application.

The CrazyPhone app is Crazytel's official softphone application, allowing you to make and receive calls using your Crazytel service on your mobile device or computer. This guide walks you through the setup process for both new installations and reconfiguration of existing applications.

## SETUP PROCESS

The setup process is identical whether you're configuring a new CrazyPhone softphone or reconfiguring an existing one. The only difference is that existing users may not need to download the software again.

### STEP 1: DOWNLOAD THE APP

Download and install the CrazyPhone app for your device.

The Crazyphone application is available on the Apple App Store, and the Google Play Store for mobile devices.
The Crazyphone application is also available for Windows and macOS on desktop computers. On a computer, sign in with the **Open Setup Link** button under the QR code on the same QR screen.

**Note:** Desktop CrazyPhone works with SIP Trunks, Hybrid SIP Trunks, and CrazyPBX Extensions alike.

### STEP 2: GET YOUR QR CODE

To configure the app, you'll need a QR code from your Crazytel account. The QR code contains all the necessary credentials to set up your softphone.
Important note: Do not attempt to manually enter your credentials in the app. Only scanning the QR code will work properly.
To obtain your QR code:

 1. Sign in to the Crazytel customer portal using a device other than the one you plan to use the CrazyPhone app with

 1. Navigate to SIP Trunks in the left navigation panel (for SIP Trunks) or to the CrazyPBX Extensions section (for Extensions)

 1. For existing SIP Trunks that need reconfiguration:

     * Navigate to **SIP Trunks** from the left hand menu (the top option, not Hybrid!)

     * Under the *Configured Trunks* section, locate the SIP Trunk you'd like to use

     * Click the *yellow padlock icon* (**Reset Password**) and confirm you wish to proceed. **REMEMBER** - Resetting a SIP Trunk's password *will* stop any devices currently using this SIP Trunk from working!

     * The QR code will be displayed on screen

 1. For new SIP Trunk setup:

     * Click Add SIP Trunk on the top right

     * Set the SIP Trunk type to ""Register based""

     * Configure your preferred caller ID

     * If using SMS, set your preferred Mobile Number for SMS Caller ID

     * Set a Nickname for the SIP Trunk

     * Click Submit

     * Click NEXT to accept the confirmation call

     * Enter the confirmation code when prompted

### STEP 3: SCAN THE QR CODE

1. Open the CrazyPhone app on your device

1. When prompted, scan the QR code displayed on your customer portal (on a computer, click **Open Setup Link** under the QR instead)

1. The app will automatically configure itself with all necessary settings

That's it! The app will handle the rest of the configuration process automatically.

## SIP TRUNKS VS EXTENSIONS

Depending on your Crazytel service, you may need to set up the CrazyPhone app with either a SIP Trunk, a Hybrid SIP Trunk, or a CrazyPBX Extension:
 * SIP Trunks work with PBX systems and also register directly to softphones, ATAs, and IP phones - including the CrazyPhone mobile app. A SIP Trunk used directly with a single device gives you basic make-and-receive calling.
 * CrazyPBX Extensions provide enhanced features like call transfer, putting callers on hold, and other advanced telephony functions
 * For call transfer, hold, and calling between extensions without your own PBX, use a Hybrid SIP Trunk or CrazyPBX Extensions
 * Both desktop and mobile CrazyPhone work with SIP Trunks, Hybrid SIP Trunks, and CrazyPBX Extensions; on a computer use the Open Setup Link under the QR

## ADDITIONAL FEATURES

The CrazyPhone app includes several features beyond standard calling:
 * Free calling between CrazyPhone app users
