What NBN® Pulse shows: Connection, Speed, Reliability and Fibre signal readings, ratings like Good and Could be better, drop-outs and Check now.

NBN® Pulse is a quick picture of each connection's last known state from the NBN® network. It is not a speed test and not a Wi-Fi test.

Find it

NBN® Dashboard › NBN® Pulse

It is also on each connection's Overview tab and on Diagnostics & Faults.

#2 The readings

ConnectionHow well your connection to the NBN® network is holding up.
SpeedHow your connection is performing compared with what it should deliver.
ReliabilityHow steady it has been, for example how often it drops out.
Fibre signalThe strength of the fibre signal reaching your NBN® box. Fibre connections only.
Drop-outsHow many times the connection dropped in recent days.

#2 The ratings

GoodNo problem found.
Could be betterIt works, but something is below what it should be.
A problem was foundThe network found an issue. Try the troubleshooting guides or report a fault.
Data unavailableThe network did not report this reading.

The line above the readings sums it up, for example Online, Previously offline, Not checked yet or Stable for 12 days.

#2 Check now

Press Check now to ask the NBN® network whether the connection is online right now. It takes a few seconds and does not interrupt your internet. Check all does this for every connection.

Good to know. On Fibre to the Curb (FTTC) the network updates readings once every 24 hours. If Pulse says Good but one device is slow, the problem is usually Wi-Fi or the device.
