Pause your internet while you are away, turn it back on, or end it. All of these are in the connection's Manage menu.

#2 Your options

SuspendPauses the connection. Your internet turns off once the NBN® network confirms it and stays off until you resume. Billing continues and your plan stays the same.
ResumeTurns your internet back on once the NBN® network confirms it. Nothing to pay. Restart your modem if it does not reconnect by itself.
DisconnectEnds the connection, Now or On a later date. The dialog shows What you get back.
Remove permanentlyOnly for a disconnected connection. Closes its record for good. No charge, and the dialog lists what stays with you.

Before you disconnect. A disconnection sent now cannot be cancelled or switched back on. A scheduled one shows under Coming up on this connection and can be cancelled before the day. Removing a connection permanently cannot be undone.

Moving house? Use Move house instead of disconnecting, so your internet comes with you.

#2 Suspended by itself?

If the connection says Suspended: your prepaid account is in debit, top up your balance and it switches back on.
