How the recommendation works

We ask business or residential first, then quantity and needs. Every completed quiz returns a named product, a named plan, quantity, indicative monthly cost, and a CIS download. Craycray $8 is residential only.

Quantity first

Tell us how many trunks or extensions you need. Plans set concurrent outbound lines separately (except Unhinged, where each trunk is one line).

Hard product rules

Hold/transfer needs, CrazyPhone desktop, and telemarketing bans eliminate invalid product/plan combos. Simple make and receive still allows Standard SIP without an existing PBX.

You always get a plan name, channel notes, indicative AUD incl. GST pricing, and the matching Critical Information Summary PDF.

Choose residential for home phone use - PAYG from 50c/month or Craycray at $8/month with included local, national and mobile. Craycray is residential only and cannot be used for business. Choose business for office, shop or work use (SIP, Hybrid, CrazyPBX or Call Centre plans such as PAYG or Crackers from $35/month).
Standard SIP trunks handle make and receive calls - a softphone, ATA or IP phone is enough; you do not need an existing PBX. Hybrid adds Crazytel-provided hold, transfer and office features on SIP. CrazyPBX is a full hosted cloud phone system. Use this quiz, then compare the product pages and read the CIS.
Not always. On Crackers and Crazy 5, outbound lines come from the plan (1 or 5) while you can register many trunks. On Unhinged, each trunk includes 1 outbound line. Hybrid PAYG caps outbound lines at 20 account-wide.
No. Crackers and Crazy 5 cannot be used for call centre, telemarketing or outbound sales. CrazyPBX Everyday, Business and Insane have the same restriction except PAYG. Choose PAYG or Call Centre usage-based trunks instead.
CrazyPhone desktop (Windows/Mac) is CrazyPBX-only. Standard SIP and Hybrid support CrazyPhone on mobile only. On SIP or Hybrid you can use a third-party desktop softphone; Hybrid also has a browser WebRTC phone.
