CrazyPBX - Linking the Crazyphone App

Crazytel offers the Crazyphone application for PC and Mobile - this guide covers how to sign in on both.

⚠️ This guide covers CRAZYPBX EXTENSION setup. If you are using SIP Trunks this is the wrong guide!

How does CrazyPBX work?

Crazytel allows multiple devices to register to a single CrazyPBX Extension. All devices must use the latest password for the CrazyPBX Extension.

When generating a QR Code for your CrazyPBX Extension, the Extension's password will be reset. This invalidates any devices signed in using the old password.

Signing in to Crazyphone for Mobile

Signing in to the Crazyphone Mobile Application can be completed using a QR Code. The QR code should be used whenever possible as it eliminates the potential for typos/human error.

1. Sign in to the Crazytel Customer Portal and click CrazyPBX

1. Click Extensions on the left hand side to list all CrazyPBX Extensions you hold

1. On the Extension you want to sign in to, click the middle action button - "Generate QR Code for Extension"

1. You will be presented with a confirmation pop-up asking if you want to Reset Password & Generate QR

1. Click Reset Password & Generate QR. A QR Code will be displayed. Scan this QR code with the Crazyphone application for mobile.

Signing in to the Crazyphone for Desktop

Signing in to the Crazyphone Desktop Application can be completed using a setup link. The setup link should be used whenever possible as it eliminates the potential for typos/human error.

1. Sign in to the Crazytel Customer Portal and click CrazyPBX

1. Click Extensions on the left hand side to list all CrazyPBX Extensions you hold

1. On the Extension you want to sign in to, click the middle action button - "Generate QR Code for Extension"

1. You will be presented with a confirmation pop-up asking if you want to Reset Password & Generate QR

1. Click Reset Password & Generate QR. A QR Code will be displayed -- underneath this QR code is a button titled Open setup link

1. If you are signing in to the Crazyphone app on your computer, launch the Crazyphone application, then click this button. A pop-up will show stating Crazytel is trying to open an external application. Click Open Crazyphone to sign in.

1. If you are resetting the password for someone else, right-click the Open setup link button and click Copy Link Address. Send this link to the person that needs to sign in.

Signing in to both Crazyphone for Desktop and Crazyphone for Mobile

To sign in on both devices at the same time, complete steps 1-5 for either option. When the QR code is displayed, scan it with the mobile application, and click the open setup link to sign in on the desktop.
