Premium Announcements
Premium Announcements play an uploaded audio message to callers, then either hang up or forward the call to another destination. They support optional weekday schedules, holiday overrides, call history, and usage reporting.
Basic setup example
Example: play an after-hours message, then forward callers to voicemail.
- Open Announcements > Audio Library.
- Upload the after-hours audio file.
- Create an announcement named After Hours Message.
- Select the uploaded audio under Announcement audio.
- Enable Forward Call after Playback.
- Set Forward route to Premium Voicemail and select the voicemail mailbox.
- Route the after-hours phone number or parent feature to the announcement.
- Place a test call and confirm the message plays before the call forwards.
Uploading audio
- Open Announcements > Audio Library.
- Enter a Display Name if you do not want to use the uploaded filename.
- Choose or drag in an audio file.
- Click Upload & Transcode.
Accepted formats shown in the portal are WAV, MP3, OGG, and M4A. The upload limit shown in the portal is 10 MB and 5 minutes.
Creating an announcement box
- Navigate to Announcements.
- Click Create New Announcement or Create New Box.
- Complete the settings:
- Announcement name: A friendly name, such as Sales offline message.
- Accept calls immediately upon creation: Enable if the announcement should be active immediately.
- Evaluation Timezone: Timezone used for schedule and holiday matching.
- Announcement audio: The audio file callers will hear.
- Forward Call after Playback: Enable if the caller should be routed somewhere after the audio plays.
- Forward route: Route type used after playback.
- Route destination: The specific target for the forward route.
- Click Create Box.
If Forward Call after Playback is disabled, the call hangs up after the announcement finishes.
Schedule rules
Weekday schedule rules let an announcement use alternate audio or routing during specific days and times.
- Day of the Week: The weekday the rule applies to.
- Start Time: Local start time for the rule.
- End Time: Local end time for the rule.
- Timezone: Optional override. If blank, the announcement box timezone is used.
- Alternate Announcement Audio: Optional audio for this schedule. If blank, the box default audio is used.
- Override route: Optional route for calls matching this schedule.
- Route destination: The specific destination for the override route.
Holiday overrides
Holiday overrides apply on exact calendar dates and can replace normal weekday routing.
- Holiday Date: The calendar date for the override.
- Holiday Label / Name: Friendly label, such as Christmas Day.
- Alternate Announcement Audio: Optional holiday audio. If blank, the box default audio is used.
- Override route: Optional holiday route.
- Route destination: The specific target for the holiday route.
Settings overview
- Announcement name: Display name shown in lists, call history, and reports.
- Enabled / Accept calls: Controls whether the announcement accepts inbound calls.
- Evaluation Timezone: Local timezone for schedule and holiday matching.
- Announcement audio: The default audio file played to callers.
- Forward Call after Playback: Controls whether the call routes onward after audio playback or hangs up.
- Forward route: The destination type used after playback.
- Route destination: The specific target for the route.
- Audio Library: Stores uploaded announcement audio.
- Call History: Shows callers, announcement boxes, call status, and forwarding results.
- Usage & Billing: Shows announcement usage and related costs for the selected period.
Destination routes use the same style of options as Number Manager, including SIP destinations, Call Forward, CrazyPBX destinations, Premium features, Time Conditions, Busy, Congestion, and Hang up.
Connecting a phone number
- Open Number Manager.
- Select the phone number that should play the announcement.
- Set the voice route to Premium Announcements or Announcements.
- Select the announcement box as the destination.
- Save and place a test call.
