What is a webhook?
A webhook is an automatic message that Crazytel sends to a web address you choose, the moment something happens on your phone system.
Think of it as a short "this call just happened" note. Instead of logging in to check call history, your own system is told straight away. For example:
- Log every missed call in your CRM.
- Open a helpdesk ticket when a voicemail arrives, with the transcript attached.
- Post a message to a team chat channel when a call ends.
- Update a wallboard when a caller joins or leaves a queue.
Webhooks are separate from email and SMS alerts. You can use any combination of email, SMS and webhooks on the same feature.
Who is this for? Webhooks need a web address (URL) that can receive messages. That might be your developer's app, an automation tool such as Zapier, Make or n8n, or, for some features, a chat channel in Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams or Google Chat.
