Authorised contacts - add one, what they can do, and limits
An authorised contact is a person you allow to act or speak for your Crazytel account for support and verification — someone who can call Crazytel support for you and be verified against the account. You add an authorised contact in the MyAccount portal under Account Management > Authorised Contact. Authorised contacts have limited powers and cannot log in to the portal.
What is an authorised contact?
Authorised contacts are people who may act or speak for the account for support and verification. Your authorised contact can do everything you can do, other than close, add or relocate services, or add an authorised contact.
Authorised contacts have limited powers — they cannot log in to the portal. No username or password is attached to an authorised contact: the record is used to verify who they are when they contact support for you.
How to add an authorised contact
- Sign in to the MyAccount portal at myaccount.crazytel.com.au.
- Open Account Management > Authorised Contact.
- Choose Add and fill in the contact's details:
- First name and last name (required)
- Date of birth (required) — used to verify their identity when they contact support
- Email (required)
- Mobile, home phone, alternate mobile, and alternate phone (optional)
- Save the contact. It appears in your authorised contacts list straight away.
What an authorised contact can and cannot do
| They can | They cannot |
|---|---|
| Act or speak for your account with Crazytel support | Log in to the MyAccount portal |
| Be verified against the account when they call support | Close, add, or relocate services |
| Do everything you can do, other than the limits listed here | Add another authorised contact |
Edit or remove an authorised contact
Edit a contact's details, or remove a contact, from the same Account Management > Authorised Contact page. Removing a contact takes effect immediately and they can no longer be verified against the account.
Authorised contacts vs Authorised Representatives and Advocates
An authorised contact is added by you in the portal for support and verification. An Authorised Representative or Advocate is a formal appointment made with a form and submitted through support, for people who need to deal with Crazytel on your behalf more broadly. Use an authorised contact for quick day-to-day support verification, and a representative when a formal authority is required.
