What line stability is on NBN® FTTN and FTTB copper connections, the Standard, Stable and Repair settings, and how to change it to reduce dropouts.

On FTTN and FTTB your internet runs over a copper phone line. If the line keeps dropping out, you can trade a little speed for a steadier connection.

Where to go

My Services › Manage › Line stability

The settings

Standard
Fastest speed. The NBN® default, for a line that rarely drops out.
Stable
Fewer drop-outs, a little slower. Try this first.
Repair
Fewest drop-outs, slowest.

Change it

  1. Open the connection, press Manage, then Line stability.
  2. Look at How your line has been.
  3. Press Change to Stable (or another setting).
