Connect your own router to Crazytel NBN®: which port to use, set the WAN to IPoE (Dynamic IP / DHCP), no username or password needed.

Crazytel does not supply routers. You can use any router that works with the NBN®, and setup takes a few minutes. There is no username or password to type in.

Your details

NBN® Dashboard › Setup guide

The Setup guide (on the dashboard or any connection page) shows your connection type and which port on the NBN® box your router should use.

Steps

  1. Check your NBN® equipment. Your internet comes in through the NBN® Connection Box, a small box on the wall put there by NBN®. Make sure it has power.
  2. Connect your router. Plug a network cable from the WAN (internet) port on your router into the port shown in the Setup guide.
  3. Set the WAN connection to IPoE. In your router's settings choose IPoE, which some routers call Dynamic IP or DHCP. Leave any VLAN setting blank or off.
  4. Restart your router. Turn it off and on again and give it a few minutes to connect.
  5. Still offline? Check the lights on your NBN® box look normal, then look at NBN® Pulse on the dashboard to see what we last knew about your connection.

FTTN and FTTB connections

These use the copper phone line and have no NBN® box. Your modem plugs straight into the phone wall socket, so it must support VDSL2, the type of internet used on copper lines. Set it up the same way: IPoE, Dynamic IP or DHCP, with no username or password.
